ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Colin Walker is a lifelong member of the Scout Association and a former Chairman of Central Yorkshire Scout County. On his retirement as a Primary Headteacher in 2000, he started the well-known Scouting Milestones Website. He now writes extensively on Scouting History, Lord Baden-Powell and The Siege of Mafeking. In 2007 he published the acclaimed Brownsea: B-P’s Acorn.

In scouting centenial year 2007 Colin was a historical consultant to the re-enactment camp held on Brownsea island, attended by the Chief Scout, Peter Duncan and viewed by millions world-wide.


Colin regularly give talks/lectures to Scout and non-Scout audiences and all matters relating to Scouting.
